Ronald L. Dowty is chief financial offer of Family Office Exchange (FOX), overseeing financial and risk management, human resources, office management and project management for the firm.

An innovative CFO/general counsel with expertise in leading growth and profitability through strategic analysis and business process improvement, Mr. Dowty served most recently as CFO and general counsel at International Survey Research LLC, where he directed functional activities and post-acquisition integration of finance, treasury, legal, human resources, information technology and other corporate resource departments. He consulted with the firm’s owners and board of directors on all corporate and operational matters and managed legal and litigation issues, including negotiation of key and large client sales, real estate, software licenses, and vendor and outsource contracts.

Before joining ISR in 2000, Mr. Dowty was CFO at Avstar Systems LLC, where he established, structured, staffed and organized global finance and treasury functions, including financial reporting, planning and budgeting, banking, pension/401(k) plan, and transaction processing. He also served six years as CFO–display products at Dynatech Corp., directing strategic and financial planning and financial reporting for a group of 17 international subsidiaries with $170 million in revenues.

Earlier, he served as vice president of finance at Leica Inc. and corporate controller at NEC Home Electronics/NEC Industries. He also held positions of increasing responsibility at Container Corp. of America and America Hospital Supply.

Mr. Dowty holds a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in government and economics from Indiana University. He is a certified public accountant and an active member of the Illinois Bar.
