Job Description:
This position resides in London, England.
The Director of Research is responsible for implementing and/or overseeing major research projects within the firm and providing support/input on service goal development and strategic planning. This position is responsible for delivering sophisticated thought leadership and research services to members. The Director of Research plays a key part in planning, developing and implementing strategies that deliver state-of-the art research methodology and results; building an industry-leading research team; and fostering thought leadership within the firm.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee and/or implement both branded and client specific research.
- Execute sound methodology and repeatable processes. Recommend and implement research process improvements as needed.
- Serve as a key thought leader for the firm. Collaborate with members of the Senior Management Team (defined as London Managing Partners, CEO and President) on research related projects and international business development opportunities.
- Partner with international team to plan, develop, and implement new programs and ideas to promote and increase the member value proposition for existing members and prospects.
- Provide input to other members of the Senior Management Team as part of the strategic planning process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Professional Experience:
- Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent with five to seven years of related research experience, preferably in financial services.
- Must have extensive knowledge of research methodologies and trends in the wealth management industry.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and recommend solutions for complex family and financial problems.
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Outstanding written and verbal presentation and communication skills. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to firm style and format.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Database and Contact Management systems; and Internet research experience.
- Experience in cross functional project teams.
- Ability to identify market trends and build research deliverables to meet member needs accordingly.

- Ability to provide strong leadership to drive service strategies in a fast-paced, continuously changing business environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a multi-manager, entrepreneurial environment.
- Must have superior relationship building skills to develop strong relationships with senior management and business line leadership, and have the ability to build an outstanding team.
- Willingness to work on client projects on weekend assignments.
